Zinx will likely only start to shine once the economy and card systems change

I draw a lot over my insight into Paragon from my years playing DotA. It's a different game but the design principles are the same. It's clear that the design team at EPIC play other MOBAs for reference, discussion and inspiration.

Phase = Io - When this hero was announced I immediately predicted it would replace Dekker as #1 support. Despite a lot of people disagreeing. Io dominated the DotA seen for years. And when Phase was released I was not incorrect.

Riktor = Pudge

Gideon = Enigma

Zinx = Medusa - For those unfamiliar with Medusa. Her defining ability is Mana Shield. She takes 60% reduced damage from all sources. But loses 1.7 mana per 1 damage she receives. Her mana pool basically supplements her HP. It's very similar to Zinx's "Dirty Healing".

For those complaining that Zinx has low impact, the problem you are facing is that the game is currently designed specifically in a way that prevents Zinx from taking advantage of her strengths.

To explain I will briefly explain an average Medusa game in DotA. Medusa is one of the strongest carries in DotA. Her problem is that she spends the majority of the game being very weak. Because her strength is her mana pool. She will start the game by building into her stats. And not into her damage. It is known that when playing vs a Medusa, you need to end the game fast, while she is weak. If your game runs over 30 minutes vs a Medusa. You've probably already lost. Because eventually, she will get to a point where she is unkillable. And then she will start to build damage. At which point they have an unkillable carry doing as much or more damage as your perfectly killable carry.

For those of you following the development of the game. We know that the game is specifically designed to end around the 30 minutes. This means for a hero like Zinx, games will end before she has a chance to turn into her ultimate form. Murdock can just start building damage and going to town. But Zinx must spend the game building her HP, Mana and Mana regen before she can even start getting her damage.

These limitations will most likely stop once she has a better selection of cards in the card system changes. But also once the economy changes take place, it will most likely be easier for teams to force late game scenarios. And it will be in these games where Zinx will shine most.

Because I guarantee that if we start seeing longer matches in the changes, the same people complaining now that Zinx in underpowered, will be the same people complaining that she is unstoppable.

Edit - Just to clarify: I am not saying Zinx is a carry. I am comparing her to a similar hero that is a carry. "Why is that comparison warranted?" Because not only are the heroes similar but the devs themselves have spoken about her ability to play every role. In the comments I am talking about her ability to carry. Not being one. I can carry a game with Belica. I am not saying Belica is a carry
