Dear Safelane carries of Paragon,

The game is still relatively new and there are a lot of players new to MOBAs, so there's a basic concept that a lot of people don't seem to understand in this game: Lane control.

Lane control is very different in this MOBA but some principles are the same. In a 2v1 lane match up, I (as your support) will "zone out" the enemy offlaner. I will push them away from the minions to stop them farming.

The thing is, the offlaner is solo and so is effectively getting double the XP we are. So this is very import do not mindlessly attack the minions. This will push the lane into the offlaner and they will receive double our XP. And also completely undoes all the work of my zoning them out. If I juke all of the offlaner's attacks for a solid 2 minutes and force them back to their tower, it's kind of pointless if you then go and give them the lane minions anyway.

So what should you be doing?

You should be only hitting the minion for a killing blow when you are close to your own tower. But as you get closer to the enemy tower, you should start hitting the minions more liberally.

The reason for this is that not only will this mean that our own minions will die while the offlaner is out of range for CXP and XP. But it will also cause multiple waves of our minions to stack. So that when we do arrive at their tower, it becomes easier to force the tower down.

If you are regularly facing an offlaner that is 1 or 2 levels ahead of you, this is the clearest sign that you are laning incorrectly. Either becuase you are pushing the lane. Or the support is failing to "zone" effectively.

Please. Please. Please stop mindlessly attacking minions. And think about what you are trying to achieve with every action you take. Killing minions faster does not increase the speed at which you get CXP and XP. Minions spawn at set intervals. Just because you have killed all of your minions, does not mean the enemy base will gift you with more. This isn't dinner. There are no seconds.
