Hello,

I've always used = THIS to refer to the country who received the event, in no matter what scope. Even in a random scope of another country, I can use = THIS to refer to the country who received the event.

I know that in Victoria 2 = THIS doesn't work, and you need to use = ROOT, which makes sense. = ROOT seems to just work the same way as = THIS, but maybe in the "regular" games such as EU4 and EU3, = ROOT is different?

And what exactly is = FROM? I haven't ever gotten a really good answer from anyone. Can someone explain to me what = FROM refers to in an example event?
