We at the Syrian Civil War mod for HOI4 have returned for our 8th dev diary. We had some major progress throughout the month of July, and we can finally and proudly say that we have finished most of the map.

and here is how our province map looks like:

We have over 20000 provinces with only a hundred being sea provinces. Our progress have skyrocketed thanks to the random map generator that was used to fill our empty states (even tho all of the states you will see in the map were made by hand and took forever), but we have added 14000 provinces and 1000 states to the map, and the countries and playable factions slowly take shape. First thing first: the map. Our map has seen some major works especially to Syria and Iraq where we have decided to add the PKK as a playable country in Iraq, we have also finished working on the Syrian states and splitting them between the factions here is a picture of Syria zoomed out.

One can immediately notice the Balkanisation that took place to Syria. This has resulted in a chaotic Idlib province dynamics that started taking shape during early 2014.

We also decided that we are going to go with battalions instead of companies since Iran and Egypt love to have big armies which would have resulted in Iran having over 1000 company and Egypt having about the same number of units.
