I'm trying to get into HOI3, so I started a Spain game
This is my current situation:

I won the Civil War fairly easily, I consolidated my troops in the north and focused on killing any Nationalist stragglers, before surrounding and taking out Madrid
But what now?
France is cleary out of my league
I'd like to take Portugal, but I can't declare war on them and I don't know how to do that
I'm aligning myself to the Axis but I'm also not allowed to join
What should I be doing at this stage of the game?

Also what should I be researching/building?
I started building some aircrafts, as the thing on the production screen suggested, and I'm researching al 4 light tank things, and intend to move into medium tanks
