Should I get into this?

This year for Christmas, i am wanting to buy something i can get into, something to bide my time. Although i have lots of things to do, it's an option for if i get bored. I have seen a number of different possibilities, and this is one of them. The designs made are quite nice, and it does not seem hard or expensive to do so.
So i am going to ask you this, why should i get into paracord? What do you enjoy about it? Is there anything for beginners i should look at? Persuade me.
