Hey there.
SO, I'm using Parallel Launcher to play Paper Mario 64. Parallel Launcher basically helps with settings for RetroArch (using the ParaLLEI core) so I don't have to fiddle with it too much, but I made sure that the graphics driver is vulkan (I have a GTX 980, and supposedly that should work out even though it's on the old end of things), and I made sure the GFX and RSP Plugins are set to Parallel.
My problem is that the audio is constantly crackling and it feels like the game is running slightly slower than it should. I never get a solid 60fps according to the retroarch FPS counter (unsure how accurate that is), even dipping down into the 30s during the menu demo story thing. Mostly the audio cackling issue though, I probably wouldn't even notice any performance hit if it didn't feel like the game was crunching itself together constantly. Though I did read that the audio issue is tied to visual performance issues as well?
It also seems to do this if I use RetroArch on its own without the Parallel Launcher.
Unsure what I'm doing wrong compared to other people. Would like to play some PM64 runs sometime soon.
Thanks for your help.
