So, I had a flare up last week. Technically, I think it was still piggy backing off of my Dec 13th flare up. So, I ran out of sublingual Zofran and used a patch my old local GI called in thats supposed to last three days. I took it off not long after I put it on. I felt the double headed demon start again.
Pain got so bad I passed out. When I came too and realized what happened I called my specialist his nurse told me to go to their nearest ER about 2 hours away. Husband and daughter drove me and waited on me. Nurse met me at door and took me straight back. They were drawing blood, weighed me on the bed and starting fluids. (I lost 17 lbs in 21 days.)
ER and the Dr says, "I don't see anything. (I try to explain that when you have so much scarring you don't see damage and nothing elevates.) And, its to close for a CT scan. Let's just say you have abdominal pain and send you on the way!"
Legit, I had a break down crying! I had been holding my tears back and the nurse could tell. She told the dr is there not anything we can do I'm sure she's telling the truth I don't think she could fake tears and wincing for over an hour and a half. Dr agreed and said let me consult with her Specialist (why didn't she do that in the first place, I told her he told me to come there)
She calls me on my cell phone and said I talked to your Dr and I know your not a pain seeker now. I'm going to give you something and go home to sleep it off and maybe it will knock it out and consult with pain management. I told nurse after I quit hurting so bad pain management is for my back they can't help with my pancreas. She told me to ask for my Primary to see if they would take over care for pancreas flare ups.
That way when I have a flare up they can see me and give me meds when needed or ask them or pain management dr to refer me to another pain management who could do everything. It's like I don't want a running script for pain meds, I'm not asking for that. Im asking for help when I have a flare up. I dont under what the what. Any advice from any of yall on this?
