So I guess mild elevations of amylase and lipase are most common in non pancreatic conditions? This doesn’t sound like CP?

Never drank, no history of pancreatitis in family. Intermittent diarrhea the last few years and fluttering in back. Diarrhea cramping can be very very severe but it’s lower left abdomen, definitely not the pancreas itself. Labs normal beyond once (day after diarrhea) elevated amylase and lipase (152 and 156 respectively). Retest a month later was normal. Fecal elastase normal. Did later test positive for SIBO and the GI feels that fits my symptoms well (fat malabsorption, low b12 etc) BUT I didn’t get the enzyme levels. Why were they elevated at that one point (and maybe during every diarrhea episode who knows) she basically shrugged and said that any GI upset can lead to elevations in those levels and that the are nowhere near AP levels and that they aren’t even looked at in terms of chronic pancreatitis….. okay, so what are mild elevations seen in then? I guess her explanation is just any GI upset.

To be fair another doc on here said something similar. No scans done besides ultrasound which was normal. I know given my age and lifestyle CP is very very unlikely but still just worried.

Also sometimes I get deep achy back pain that can be upper abdomen too but drinking fluids calms that… so I assume that’s just heartburn.
