I flew back home for the holidays on Thursday and ate a lot on the plane and ended up with a stomach ache in the upper center of my stomach. This has lasted since then and it is now Tuesday night. It has continued to get worse and seems to come in waves and be triggered by eating. On Saturday I woke up with a fever and threw up a few times. No nausea but just extreme pain that led to vomiting. It seems like every time I eat, no matter how small, I end up with this severe pain that comes in waves almost immediately.
Last night it ended up waking me up in the middle of the night and I’ve had a few severe attacks since then. Between the attacks my stomach is still hurting but not nearly as bad as the severe pain that comes and goes. In my regular day to day life I often suffer from nausea, heartburn, and acid reflux, but I am not experiencing that at all, which is actually unusual for me.
I am 23F and a healthy weight and pretty active as well. I am not a big drinker either. My younger, thin, healthy sister got her gallbladder out last year at 16 y/o and I’ve had my appendix out already.
Does this sound like pancreatitis? If so, at what point do I seek further help? I went to an urgent care today and they suggested it may be that or gastritis but my symptoms don’t align with gastritis at all so I’m not sure. They weren’t very helpful and I’m still unable to eat much at all.
