I have a 4.4 cm cyst in the head of my pancreas. I'm getting a biopsy on the 25th and I have no idea how I'll feel afterwards. They will be putting me all the way under. They're doing and endoscopy biopsy. Yes l, I have a driver.
I'm guessing my throat will hurt and I'll feel bloated and gassy. I'm wondering if there's pain from the needle taking the sample from the cyst? Or if there's any pain at all? And how long does it take to get results?
I'm trying not to freak out about the results but at the same time trying to accept any outcome. Wipple surgery sounds life changing and scary. Cancer sounds awful. A slow growing keep an eye on it sounds annoying but the best case scenario.
No one has explained anything to me about possible types of cysts or what to expect. I don't like to go down Dr google rabbit holes but can't help it when I don't know much.
Back to my original question. What experiences did anyone else have with endoscopy biopsies? It's in the head of my pancreas if that matters.
Update! I had my biopsy today and it was so easy. The hardest part was finding a vein for the IV. LOL I have difficult veins and it's always a 3-4 poke job.
No results for about a week. They said everything looked OK and didn't find any surprises in the stomach or pancreas. I'm hopeful it's all going to be OK and just something to monitor. Fingers crossed
