UPDATE:
Surgeon confident he got all of it during the Whipple! Was determined stage 3 when they got in and saw how it spread. Only 1/21 lymph nodes were positive, and Drs say he should be fine after 4 months of chemo.
My only question: Forfirinox did almost nothing. He doesn't have KRAS. I'm scared that another chemo wouldn't work either?
This subreddit is a f****** godsend <3

Hello again,
Google is useless and also terrifying so I'm here for expert input.
During the Whipple entire pancreas had to be removed, and also called vascular surgeon because it had gotten involved with the Mesenteric artery. His scan after 2 months of chemo showed clean margin and had dislodged from artery. But when they went in 6 weeks later it was through the whole pancreas. That's really bad, right?
Friend sees surgeon and oncology Tuesday, but I'm paranoid and trying to research as much ahead of time.
Anyway, pathology says of 21 lymph nodes removed, only 1 was positive. How good is that news? I think it should be good but Johns Hopkins says any involved lymph nodes is stage 3.
2 months of Folfirinox barely shrank it, so I'm afraid that more chemo won't kill stragglers. But, if they're teeny the chemo can work, right?? Right?
Also he has no KRAS markers, which I hear is a good thing.
I'm just scared. Any feedback, whether hopeful or pessimistic, will help me mentally prepare for the prognosis.
Love to all of you <3
