Hello, I know no one can diagnose/is an expert, etc. I've been googling and the algorithm sends me the wrong stuff, thought I might ask here:
My friend has PC adenocarcinoma. Did 2 months of chemo (4 treatments) and before they started chemo their enzymes were way off, PERT helped for a bit.
So they've been off chemo for 6 weeks now, surgery will be soon. But two weeks ago they started having stomach issues, and lately they had to take their enzymes again and it helps some.
My question: is the enzyme problem maybe a long term effect of chemo withdrawal, maybe? Or might it mean that the tumor is getting worse after the 4 weeks it takes your immune system to recover?
I'm trying not to be paranoid, Google is no help, I even called the PCAN helpline and they said "It's probably not an issue" but I'm scared that the same symptoms they had pre-chemo now seem to maybe be coming back.
Also they've been completely exhausted the last 2 weeks.
Thanks in advance
