Stage IV Uncertainties
Post Body

Hi everyone, thank you for being here. My husband was diagnosed with Stage IV PC after several months of back pain that was assumed to be muscular. After a disastrous clinical trial that put him in the ICU heā€™s had two rounds of Gem/Abrax but only every other week because his platelets were too low to be more aggressive with treatment. His most recent scan shows that he has ā€œinnumerableā€ tumors on the liver now, as well as evidence of cirrhosis. His pancreatic tumor has not changed much. Heā€™s lost so much weight even though his appetite has been okay, itā€™s like the cancer is taking it all. Heā€™s also very tired. Mentally heā€™s convinced heā€™s going to die soon. The onco is still optimistic given his age (50) but everything I read online about his symptoms suggests otherwise. Not really seeking advice as every case is different but itā€™s just frustrating to not know if he will be here tomorrow or for the next few months or if things will improve ever. Thanks for reading.
