I'm writing to share my experience being scammed on the Binance platform by a coin called BOO coin, BOO/USDT. Early this morning, I purchased $100 of BOO coin based on the massive gains it had gained in the last 24 hours. However, shortly after, the price plummeted drastically, and I couldn't sell it and still can't. The transaction won't go through. It must be a pump-and-dump scheme.
Here's why I believe Binance should be held accountable:
- Lack of due diligence: BOO coin has several red flags, such as 100% charge fee to sell it. It is like going to the grocery store and they sell you rotten food and don't tell you it will make you sick. That said, Boo is readily available for purchase on Binance right now. But not to be sold back.
- Ease of scamming: The platform allows anyone to list any coin, regardless of legitimacy. This creates a breeding ground for scams. $BOO coin creator has several scam coins and he converts all his scam profits in to Binance native coin.Profits from his scam are worth several thousand dollars at the moment - all in BSC.
- No recourse for victims: Once a purchase is made, even if it's a scam coin, Binance offers no refunds or chargebacks. wtf. I am a consumer, I pay fees, you make profit out of me. You are responsible to deliver a non rotten product.
My questions for Binance are:
- What measures are in place to prevent scam coins from being listed on your platform?
- How do you plan to protect users from pump-and-dump schemes?
- What recourse do victims of scams have on your platform?
I urge Binance to take responsibility for its role in facilitating this scam and implement stricter measures to protect users. I also encourage others who have been scammed on Binance to share their experiences and raise awareness.
