PA VM Won't get Global Protect Updates

I have a downloaded PA VM for my testing set-up and I'm trying to get Global Protect going for the PCNSE curriculum. The FW can contact the update servers since it can update the Dynamic Updates but the moment I try to Check on the Global Protect Client it says "no update information available" & "Failed to check upgrade info due to generic communication error. Please check network connectivity and try again."

As far as I know I don't need licensing to get this working with basic VPN functions for the Global Protect Client. Is there something I can do to get this going?
