Links and Ideas please? The officiant had to cancel at the last minute, so they asked me to lead the ceremony.
So, in two days I will be conducting the ceremony for my 75 yr old mom and her 77 year old boyfriend, in front of about 30 of their friends and family. I have to perform the rituals, the introduction, all the things.
A little background - The scotish boyfriend is very in touch with past lives and has an active psychic practice which he engages with complete authenticity and with very worthwhile intentions. My irish mother is less spiritual and more... practical, but is open minded, of course.
Looking for a variety of ideas I can sample from to create their ceremony. Anything from making a circle, to introducing why we include the 4 elements in that circle, to the meaning of the ties, to how to hold space for reflection in the ceremony, to simple, easy to follow handfasting technical instructions (like an indestructibles page?).
Appreciate any links/ideas/help. I'm staring at next to zero... though I did happen to sit beside a woman on the flight over to my moms who both was married with a handfasting ceremony and performed one, so I've gotten... that much background on the thing. It was a long flight so we did get to talk a fair amount.
