I’ve seen a lot of people hyped from the Nets win( which was phenomenal btw) to the point where the outlook of the season has changed. Let’s be clear here. WE ARE NO WHERE CLOSE TO COMPETING FOR ANYTHING. Anyone hoping for a playoff push is delusional. This would just keep us on the same mediocre path we’ve been on since 2014. The best path for this team is to develop our youngins and get some assets by the deadline. Even KPs message to the fan indicated we have no intentions of competing. Go back and read it, there’s no mentions of playoffs or compete.
This is a rebuild season(not tanking). We can see from the Mathematician that even nabbing a top 6 pick can garner us a cornerstone for the future. It’s not about tanking for Wemby, it’s about getting another young stud that we can keep and help us compete long term. So with all that being said we should not be expecting some playoff push. Let’s be excited for our youth and what’s to come in the future.
