INCOMING TRANSMISSION
Hello everyone!
I can now definitely say that those of us who were agents at Minecon, Janeator, Aconitin and myself are flying out to Gamescom tomorrow. From what we hear Daniel, Pontus and Jens insisted that Microsoft fly us out to Gamescom in order to do exactly what we did at Minecon. We are all in their enormous debt for this rare opportunity to hang out again so soon. Minecon was an absolutely amazing experience over 2 days, and we are going to be in Cologne for a whole week!
We'll be running the Cobalt booth there all day every day, so if you're going, come find us and say hi! The Cobalt booth is part of the Xbox section (along with Minecraft) and we're also booked to get a half hour section at midday every day on the official Xbox stage. This will probably involve developer insights like the Minecon panel and show-matches between us. No absolute promises but there may also be multiplayer demonstrations.
Gamescom is a much busier and longer event than Minecon, and since we have a prime position and stage time in the Xbox booth, it's going to be phenomenal. Minecon demonstrated how players could instantly fall in love with the game, and we are hoping to have a similar impact all this week. I'm so hyped already!
Also, I think by this time it's pretty safe to reveal that Cobalt is getting an announcement at Gamescom and it is going to involve detailed release information. We will be tweeting it out as soon as it's announced, so follow us all on Twitter and look out for the hashtag #playcobalt. I know at Minecon we may have been a little relaxed on the twitter front, but this time I'm gonna make sure we are tweeting left, right and centre for you guys at home!
Cobalt has come a long way since its first alpha release, and I want to say a personal big thank you to everyone who's bought Cobalt so far. You probably never realised but the tiny trickle of sales over the course of five years has been just enough to support Daniel and Pontus in developing my favourite game of all time. I also want to give a huge shoutout to Meaghan Fitgerald and everyone else at Microsoft who is playing a huge part in the release of Cobalt. It means everything to us fans (and to the devs!) for Cobalt to get the recognition it deserves. Another shoutout goes to Fatshark AB who have been doing a lot of fantastic work porting Cobalt to the Bitsquid engine and getting it running on the Xbox One.
And finally, for the millionth time, thanks to Daniel, Pontus and Jens for literally everything! (Not forgetting Anosou too for the tunes that make me smile every time I open the game!)
Now to finish packing my bags!
This is Agent Isogash signing out.
