Been on this sub for a while and decided to take the leap into OE. I begin my journey with J2 this coming week.

J1 is a certain industry that sells a specific service, and a Fortune 500 company. In the interview process, I learned that J2 is actively looking to purchase this exact service from a company. I am very concerned that they will purchase services from J1, because the process for purchase may place me in a position to be in direct contact with an existing colleague at J1 from a “customer” perspective, blowing my cover entirely.

I’ve already accepted J2, so there’s no going back. I’m planning on jumping ship only if it comes to that point where I could see crossover happening. However, as someone who worries about everything, I’m EXTREMELY concerned this could blow up in my face. And as someone who has been so stressed over financial struggles, I feel like this is just a shift to stress over what “could” happen.

TL;DR - J2 might purchase services from J1, and if they do, then the role of each of my positions will inevitably crossover, blowing my cover entirely. I am terribly concerned for what “could” happen and needed an outlet to vent to.
