So I just started J1 at a new company, throughout the interviews I still have one that’s wrapping up the process and is going to make an offer. I want to take J2 - both are FT and in IT - Sr. Manager or Director level.
Just looking for advice on beating the background check or any other pitfalls. I haven’t updated my LinkedIn and I don’t plan to.
J1 - 185k J2 - 195k most likely
In my journey - experience trumps certs by a huge margin. However, people still want to see a basic certification.
In my specific case I’m a high school drop out, got my GED, dropped out of college without even an associates, I have 1 basic cert and 1 niche cert. I work in roles that most people have 8-12 certs but because I have experience and can communicate well I’ve advanced at an insane pace.
