Can slap / labrum tear stability improve?

is there anyway stability gets better? I'm 43 and tripped and fell on mine yesterday, heard a click sound. nothing showed on xray...awaiting mri. a bit of pain today but the worst part is almost any movements can make it feel like its out of the socket...even letting my arm hang and letting it move in circles. I'm keeping it in a sling as much as possible and icing, but even a wrong move in the sling and it feels like it wants to pop out (then my muscles tense around it).
