I enabled "Unleashing Mode" and it let me unlock the two hidden cores on my Phenom II x4 840T, and when I got to the splash screen before the windows screen it said "6 cores unlocked!" at the bottom (which, of course, it didn't before) but when I open Task Manager or Cpu-Z they still say 4 Cores.
However, Speccy tells me I have a Phenom II X6 1400T; that's important because before the unlock, I gave a very small Overclock to it (mostly just bus) and Speccy started reading my 840T as a 940T, which, like this 1400T, doesn't exist.
I assume it read it as being stronger or something, and because of that replaced the number with a model it thinks accurately represents it?
My PC Mobo Splash Screen and Speccy both say I have a x6 CPU right now, but Task Manager and CPU-Z say otherwise. How do I tell? Do I just benchmark it before and after unlocking cores and see if that makes a difference? If so, what should I use? Aida64? (OCCT won't run without .netframework 2, and I'm unable to download that.)
