Ozmafia is on sale (Steam) right now and I was wondering if it's worth the money. I am very aware of the controversies and triggers attached to it, but I want to know if the story itself is worth it. I read that the plot is very lacklustre or thinly spread at times, and that some routes are just a pain (or bore) to get through. I guess my question is: do the "better" routes make up for it? Is the story good/solid enough to tie the routes together? The artwork does look very lovely and I like that it doesn't shy away from darker themes but the fact that several people complained about the MC being obnoxiously stupid is kinda off-putting, to be honest. I know that strong, confident MCs are an absolute rarity in this genre, but straight-up dumb is just.. no. (On a related note: why do so many MCs have to be amnesiac!?)

Edit: Thank you guys for your input! I ended up buying it last night and played Kyrie's route in one sitting, lol. The MC was very naive, indeed, but I didn't think she was a disaster. It was kinda odd that she kept calling her boyfriend "Mr.", though.

My thoughts so far:>! I got the normal (?) love ending - what a misnomer - where he permanently (?) loses his brain and our roles were kind of switched. Eeeek. His naivete and kindness are obviously precious but that's not the person Fuka fell for. I did like the fact that she accepted him regardless and promised to remain by his side. I felt really bad for him, though, even if he seemed genuinely happy and content to just be with her. His last monologue really touched me - we must protect him at all costs. D: But yeah, still, give me back my vulnerable, insufferable sociopath. I was surprised at how vanilla this route was (I read that the others are spicier?). I'll go back and re-do the other Kyrie routes for sure, as I feel like I'm missing out on additional information, especially regarding his back story what with the pendant and all that jazz. I hope there are some endings where he reverts back to his normal, sadistic self?!<
