LIs who assault you if you are pursing another: OOC or LI fully ruined?

Encountered this in the game I'm currently playing:

When a LI that acts normal and gentle to you in the common route goes crazy and assaults you (edit: because he's mad for you) during another LI's route, how does it affect your reaction to him?

Do you:

A) Attribute it to inconsistent characterization and continue to like the LI in overall game?

Or:

B) Feel the full character is completely ruined?

Or:

C) Think the character was a yandere all along?

Right now I'm thinking A for what I'm playing, but time will tell if my opinion on them changes.
