Colostomy gas relief

So had a colostomy for about a year and the biggest problem is gas buildup. Blows up like a balloon. I have MS and while all my problems are below my waist, God thought it would be hilarious to throw in dexterity issues too. And my doctor prescribed bags that have clips I can’t open, someone else has to do it. Is there anything that can do to reduce gas buildup? Especially for nights so I don’t wake up to a surprise. Hasn’t happened yet, but time will tell.
