TL; DR: I'd recommend A-1 Heating and Air. Prompt, reasonable and fair.
Our AC went out just after dinnertime yesterday. It started blowing warm air. We started calling people last night, a Saturday, at 9P. All that we could get in with was DelAir. They said they'd come from 12P - 2P. I really, really didn't want to use DelAir, but we've got 2 toddlers and 2 dogs, so letting it ride until Monday just isn't an option at this stage of life. DelAir said $99 appointment cost and it can be rolled into the cost of repair. So we kept calling through the night and left our number with probably 10-15 HVAC repair companies. Our house hit about 81 through the night, which was consistent with outside temps. Kids/dogs were fine.
At about 7A, Angel from A-1 Heating and Air calls me back. He says he can get out here sometime between 11-1. Appointment cost is $159 and it doesn't roll into the cost of repair. But it wasn't DelAir, so we went with it and cancelled DelAir.
Angel called me back at 10:30 and said he'd be at the house in 20 minutes, was that ok? Of course, absolutely. Within about 20 minutes, he repaired the system and performed some general maintenance as a courtesy. Total cost to repair a blown capacitor on a Sunday in June was $320. He also cleared out the drain line, checked the freon, and provided some general maintenance suggestions. I get that some may be critical of the $320, but for prompt, straightforward service and repair, I found this to be fair. I'd recommend A1 Heating and Air. Angel was extremely helpful, friendly and transparent with us.

I'm making this post as I searched Reddit wildly for a solution through the night. Sorry I was so descriptive, just figured I'd leave details for anyone who finds this post via search later.
