There are a few fingers to point on the Democratic side (Tom Suozzi gave up this seat to get absolutely bodied in his run for the governorship, which was a totally predictable result). The really crazy thing though is that this story actually started to break in September by a small paper and no one paid attention to it. I don't think they had ALL of the details, but they had enough to get someone looking.
