d0 to ground oddity
Post Body

Just modded a 1.0 Xbox the other day with no problems, so not sure why I am having so much trouble with the 1.6. I just rebuilt my LPC in a 1.6 board and inserted the Openxenium modchip. When I boot it up it power cycles 3 times before FRAG'ing. So, I figured it had to be my wiring. I rewired it, checked continuity and everything checked out. Go to boot again and same issue.

So, this time I take a spare LPC rebuild board and solder it in. I bridged the d0 to ground on the LPC rebuild board. I go to boot the xbox and it doesn't boot at all now. So, I remove the bridge on the LPC board and the board boots into the regular dashboard just fine. Now, as I'm typing this out it's now turning itself on and off. I'm just about done with trying to mod this one. I've checked all around the board for broken traces or tracerot and there is nothing I can find.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Edit: So, it's definitely something to do with the d0 to ground. After letting it sit and troubleshooting: the turning off and on problem has resolved itself, must have been a stuck transistor or something. Do I need to cut the l-frame trace? I couldn't find a definitive answer as to whether or not it's required with a 1.6/1.6b motherboard and Openxenium chip. For now I have left the d0 unbridged so the Xbox is kinda sitting in a non-modded position for right now.

Now the Openxenium chip LED doesn't turn on after attempting to connect it with the d0 to ground on the modchip. So, I'm not sure, but I'm starting to lean towards there being an issue with the modchip from the beginning.
