Cant download BF 2042 10 hour trial (PC)

As the title says. I click download, a little wheel spins for a second and then nothing. I've tried re0installing the app. Running as admin. Downloading another game and trying to add to the queue. Adding to my collections doesn't work either. I've tried installing Origin and downloading from there but it links back to the EA Desktop app.
I'm at a complete loss for what to do now. Anyone know how to get it to download?
