Hello all! I'm a musician who loves building things. I've built a few instruments, but nothing like an organ. I would love to someday build a simple but functional organ similar in concept to this one.
The only problem I haven't been able to get over in my mind is what to do for the blower. I've heard from many sources that I shouldn't waste my time with a vacuum motor. At the same time, for a little home project I'm not sure how I feel about shelling out thousands for a professional grade blower (even the low horse-power ones are quite expensive). The source I linked to above made his own using a low power motor and what appears to be a blower from a car's a/c unit (?). I'm not afraid to try this, but I would love it if there were a simpler solution :)
