Trusted my kid a little too much and she screwed up the Oregon Promise scholarship. Is there any hope?

Post Body

I reminded her about it in January and she knew about the application deadline. I decided to let it go and trust her to take care of it and she did not. My mistake. Even though I reminded her again in May to get all her college stuff sorted out for community college.

I contacted the person in the government who manages this and was told that if she missed the deadline in July for appeals then it was over and there is no way to get the Oregon promise scholarship at all. Like not now, not this year, not ever.

It's an expensive mistake and I'm tempted to tell the kids that she will just need to take out some loans because she fucked up. Good life lesson I guess?
