I’m on OHP. I’m moving to WA on 9/1 to start a new job, which will provide me with insurance starting on 10/1. The move and job mean I’ll lose OHP, but I’m wondering 1) how quickly will coverage end once I report the change and, 2) will OHP work should I need medical attention in WA in the interim?

I know it’s a short window gap and I don’t have any current medical issues, but I’d hate to not have insurance should I get hit by a bus or something. I’ve tried googling and looking on the OHP site but can’t find a clear answer. If anyone has a link to an authoritative source that would be especially helpful.

TL;DR – if I report changed circumstances on 9/1 that lose me my OHP, will the benefits last til the end of the month, or does coverage end immediately?
