What is the most courteous way to access blm land with limited easement or blocked in by old railroad laws and the dated practice of check boarding? I don't want to piss off private land owners and would really rather get ahead of any confrontation. I love to explore the creeks and natural woods along the Santiam and McKenzie Rivers. I like the quiet. I don't like that most hiking trails have become a place for the unheard/unsolicited political opinion. Or to feel judged for wearing shorts too short, with music playing out of my phone and not otherwise in ear buds. I live my life outloud, outdoors, and outside most lines. I pack out what's brought in and I go alone most of the time. I poke around for agates, or seasonal mushrooms. Documenting my finds with the uneducated eye of a budding hobby in photography. I pay for the yearly premium to onx hunt and it shows the property owners name, is it inappropriate to try to find contact information and attempt to reach out to ask? Or what's the typically used script when approached by an unhappy landowner or threatened with trespassing. I want to represent the manners my mom instilled AND the rights to access what the 9.9% of my income taken for taxes pays for??
