Hi there!
After a lot of frustration with my current router, I am looking at picking up an Orbi RBK12 system. I have a skinny two-story house that's just under 2000 square feet. Our modem is hooked up in the living room on the first floor, and the router is plugged into that. Speeds and connections are very spotty on the second floor. We have a Comcast plan of up to 600mbps and regularly get, oh, 60mbps wirelessly, especially on the second floor. So, Orbi it is, I think!
Here are my two questions!
- Right now we have four devices plugged into our router via ethernet - our blu-ray player, two game consoles, and... something else (I'm at work right now so I can't look. Maybe the Xfinity X1 thingie?) I see that the Orbi ... hub? or whatever it's called? only has a single ethernet port. Is there a way to reliably add more ethernet ports to this so that we can keep a wired connection for our game consoles and television?
- None of our desktop computers are plugged in via ethernet, and we do not have laptops - all of our computers and devices are connected wirelessly. Will we still be able to do the initial setup of the Orbi wirelessly?
Thank you!
