Automatic HR% Zone Updates: How is everyone adjusting to it?
Post Body

Hi OTF family! So, Iā€™m not adjusting well to the HR zone updates. A little about meā€¦..I have been a member for the last three years, switching between an unlimited and elite membership (currently on an unlimited membership). I just turned 40 last week, Iā€™m 6ā€™3ā€, 240-245lbs. My heart health is definitely in better shape than itā€™s been in the past. For example, I didnā€™t get caught during the last Catch Me If You Can and I ran a 7 min mile for the last one mile run. My HR drops pretty quickly during base paces and walking recoveries that I have to go back to base almost immediately or itā€™ll drop into the blue.

So, since the updates to the HR%, my max HR increased from 185 to 197. For the last week, I either havenā€™t gotten 12 splat points and some days, about 4-5. My efforts havenā€™t lessened at all and I sweat puddles every workout to the point itā€™s embarrassing, lol. I also grey out on the floor (not physically but the HR monitor) for at least 10-15 mins at a time to where I always want to start on the treads so I can get my splats, lol. For Tuesdayā€™s workout, I had to increase my base and push paces each 1-1.5MPH to even get in the orange. I got 13 splats but it took an effort that didnā€™t feel sustainable everyday. Should I be concerned? Should my max HR% be that high? When I shared this with my coach, he joked with me that a maxHR that high is usually for a teenager, lol. Anyways, Iā€™d like to get your thoughts on this.

Thanks in advance šŸ™šŸ¾
