Rowing is great...if you can do these 7-8 things every 3 seconds and repeat and repeat

Post Body

I know I'm salty about rowing. And I'm sure what I'm about to say is second-nature to some, and it just takes practice. I'm just tired of having practiced for 3 months and feeling less on top of things than I did on Day 1. I love everything else about OTF and am really frustrated that rowing is only getting harder to understand/execute properly the more I learn about proper form.

I posted a bit ago and some of you asked me what my specific issue is with rowing. I guess my issue is that I have to remember to do a whoooole bunch of things all in the span of a 1-second push and 2 seconds retract (according to my coached):

Proper form tips to remember (not exhaustive, just what I've been told)

  1. Arms, core legs, legs, core, arms
  2. Take 1 second to push off with legs, and 2 seconds to retract
  3. Sit up straight
  4. Extend hands beyond toes when retracting
  5. When retracting, pretend like you're pointing your toes
  6. Breath in when pushing off, breathe out when retracting
  7. Straight legs, don't bow even if that makes it easier to accomplish #5
  8. Aim to hit a specific stroke rate on top of all of the above.

JuSt HaVe FuN!

Guys... I can't. How long did it take you to master proper form? What am I overthinking/missing?
