Hello everyone,
I’m an OTF member in the US and I will be traveling to Japan in a month. They have locations there, so I’m interested in taking a class (or two) while I’m over there.
Had some questions for any members that’s taken OTF classes in another country, primarily classes in a country where English isn’t the spoken language.
I’m sure the coaches are probably communicating in their native language, which I’m fine with.
Wanted to know if the weight floor screens are in English (so that I’m able to follow along)? How much was the drop in fee when you visited? Since Japan uses the metric system, are the treads in metric as well?
I’m fine with the dumbbells being in kg’s bc those are easy to convert in my head.
The rowers are already in metric in the US, so I’m sure they use the same ones over there.
Just wanted to get some feedback from members that’s done it and see how their experience was.
My biggest fear is I’m gonna get confused on switches (not know where to go) and when given instructions by the coach on the rowers and treads (how far to row, the prompts on the tread, etc). I feel like I may be thrown off my game a little bit bc I’m gonna be trying not to embarrass myself by looking lost.
Any input/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 🙏🏾
