I love orange theory. But I donāt really understand the business model. They are open a few hours in the morning and a few hours in the evening but during the afternoon the studio is justā¦closed?
I donāt get it.
I am not a morning person. And I work standard office hours. I canāt commit to going more than twice a week so I pay for the 8 classes per month. Usually I cut out of a work a little early (my schedule is fairly flexible) and go to the 430 pm class. Itās great bc I am done early enough that I can go out in the evening if I want without having to rush.
But I need to work out more than twice a week. Outdoor workouts are great when the weather is good. But thatās not always the case. And I donāt really have space to work out at home. So I keep another gym membership as well.
Honestly though? I like to workout mid afternoon in the weekends - 1-3pm or so. I wish otf had classes at that time. But they donāt.
I wish otf was just open for members to use. I would come in prob 1-2 times per week on my own time and do my own workout. Iād put headphones in or listen to an audio workout and just get the workout in. I wouldnāt need a coach or anything and Iād cleanup after myself. This is basically how other gyms operate but otf studios are small so it feels exclusive. Even better if they give you the option of an audio version of that dayās workout.
And Iād be willing to pay more for this. My other gym membership is like $20 per month (very cheap) but I would get rid of that membership entirely if I had the otf 3 classes plus āopen sessionā option.
Iām curious if others feel like otf is leaving money on the table here. The costs to them would be very minimal - a few hours of labor each day to have someone on hand for emergencies and to watch the door.
