Update: Eating disorder to DriTri...
Post Body

Hey everyone, you all wanted me to keep you updated on things last time I posted. And here's the OG post.

I figured with less than to 2 weeks to DriTri, I'd update everyone.

First off, less than 2 weeks... that's bonkers. I was hoping it would be the 23rd, I just don't feel like I'm ready (but do we ever feel truly ready?)

This road has been long, and hard fought. Running has not gotten any easier, but I'm up to 2.5 miles and I'm confident I can land 3.1 on DriTri day. I've had rough days, where my calves just said oh no you don't, and I can confidently say I haven't had a single easy run since I started training. I have a lot of self doubt with the half marathon next year - will this ever get easier? My miles are slow - 16 min on average. That's the cut off for my race and there is part of me that fears I won't make it. Self doubt is a bitch.

BUT, my team believes in me. My wonderful trainer will be on the mic for my DriTri, and we did a sprint version of it on Monday to see where I'm at. It instilled a little bit of confidence in me. I'm not interested in beating a certain time, I just want to finish it (in well under 2 hours, hopefully.) I plan to stop for stretch breaks, water breaks, breath catching breaks... but I'm hoping that when I get to the treadmill, I will just be able to run it the way I want (and if my body says no, well, I guess I'm run walking, but I'm going to try!)

Long story short, this is hard. But I've done the training, I've spent the effort, I've fueled properly... and I will end strong, one way or another. Even if I'm the last one at the studio...
