There have been some posts about best types of food in OC and just wanted to share a place in Irvine off Jeffery by the 99 ranch market.
Hometown Restaurant
My wife and I have tried lots of places in SGV, LA, and OC and we both agree that this is the best to offer in OC. Food is great value for quality and quantity that you get. Food is quick, service is great, and we always leave with a smile on our face. Only took like 3 visits for the lady who runs the place to recognize us and welcome us back.
The dishes we recommend: - Special Lamb Casserole (braised lamb with cabbage in a heavenly sauce. - Shredded Beef with Peppers (spicy) or Onions(not spicy) - Spicy Fish with Tofu - Fried Noodle with Pork (throw those noodles in the lamb casserole. Omg) - Black Pepper Beef - Fried Pork Ribs
We liked this over places like Spicy City and Szechuan Impression. While there might be other places with equally as good or better dishes, hometown is a place we literally feel at home and could eat daily.
If you haven’t been we recommend you give it a try sometime. Figured we would share since we are moving to NYC at the end of the month and are sad that we won’t be able to eat there anymore. Maybe one of you could fill out seats there
