I went to an optometrist recently & I got new glasses. I've got a lazy eye & my prescription values are way off between my eyes. Reading directly from my prescription, I've got:
Lens | Sphere | Cylinder | Axis |
---|---|---|---|
Right | 0.75 | -1.75 | 002 |
Left | 1.75 | -3.00 | 165 |
As you can see, my left eye is significantly worse than my right, & this leads to a problem where my new glasses distorts my left eye (from the POV of somebody looking at me) to a point where it is jarring, I believe. If these numbers were more similar, there would not be a problem.
Would it be too much to ask the doctor for a weaker prescription? I know these prescriptions go in orders of 0.25 & I believe it is the cylinder that is causing the problem. Would increasing the cylinder by 0.25-0.50 help my case? Either way, I'll ask the doctor on Monday.
