LEAPs - Do I have to go to Jan 2025 for a long term cap gain goal?
Post Body
Hi All,
I'm buying LEAPs, however I'm not buying LEAPs in SPY or any other index. I'm specifically focusing on individual stocks, ETFs, and triple leveraged ETFs. The LEAP options in these chains are all for January 2024 or Jan of 2025. The 2024 is less than a year, and the 2025 have a ton more time value priced in so it damages the profitability.
I have two questions:
- Are there mid year options chains released before that year? IE, will June/July of 2024 be released before next year?
- Are there products that have greater than 1 year options available which are not A. Indexes (Like SPY) or B. All the way out to January 2025? I've found a few individual stocks that do, but seems like ETFs and such generally don't.
Thanks in advance.
