35 yr old guy here. About 5 years ago I developed a really bad virus and was bed bound for 4 days. my doc gave me a script for DHC for the joint and muscle pain.
After I got better I had some of the DHC left. A few weeks later I tried some and the rest is history. I’ve had a habit for 4 years now.
I’m currently on 10x30mg per day taken three times a day. That’s 3000mg DHC a day.
I have ran out before, quite a few times, and after 24h been in bed in full withdrawal. My ex gf found out and left me.
I’m 35 years old and want my old life back. I can’t stand wasting money on a habit, where I buy it is very expense, sick of a substance ruling my life, making up excuses to family and gf when I’m sick, and also sex isn’t the same. Sex used to be my drug, I was insatiable, but on DHC my libido is unpredictable, It takes me a long time to climax and orgasm isn’t the same.
The one thing I realise when I run out and go into withdrawal is how sensitive my d***k was. God I miss that. And going on holiday without stashing a supply in my case. Planning my life around my habit is really depressing now.
My question?
I hear stories of people on H and stronger opiates going cold turkey and saying WD has all but disappeared after 8-10 days. But then I read about others still getting withdrawals a month after quitting.
Say I tapered the dose down for a week then stopped. If the WD just lasted a week or so I could take some time off work and just tough it out in bed. Late December would be a good time to do it if I take some holiday from work. And I understand I’d experience some low mood or anxiety when first clean.
However, a month of getting clean would require a different approach.
Any ideas? Would cold turkey from DHC last around a week?
