(I tried to post this on the opera forum but kept getting some generic error, and thought I would try here, bit ironic Im making a post about an issue but have to troubleshoot and error to do it...nope...lol)

I just switched to opera after using ffox for a long time, and its pretty brilliant in particular the workspace feature, Im impressed.

But, I cant play any embedded videos (youtube works), I have already done the searching and found it to be a relatively common issue, I tried the fix using "Chromium codecs for your version of Opera" with a virtual link etc... I tried that and not only did it not work, but i made the tabs crash non stop. Also tried a few other things settings wise, no joy.

Im not into using a different browser for video alone and very not willing to waste much more of my time on this

I tried vivaldi and everything works fine and the have a similar workspace feature, but I really prefer the opera implementation, and would prefer to keep using opera.

That being said Im not wasting (much) more of my time reinstalling and trying 50 different things, just to make something work that every other browser seems to have no issue with, I dont mind an hour maybe 2, but thats about it, anything longer and its vivaldi.

I know this isnt the most optimistic post... lol, but I thought I would ask if there is anything obvious I may have missed that might get this working before I give up on opera?

Running mint 21.2 everything is up to date...
