For the past week or so /r/openbsd has been private in support of the site-wide protests against proposed API changes by Reddit, Inc, which would limit 3rd party clients/applications and accessibility users. These changes will still go into affect July 1st.

Most subreddits stayed private for the original 48 hours but we remained private along with many other subreddits as a show of support, as was done by other open source communities on reddit (such as /r/linux).

As of today, we have received a modmail message from Reddit, which advises us to re-open the subreddit, or in no uncertain terms face some form of retaliation. So we'll re-open on Friday, June 23rd, but remain restricted until then.
