Am I the only schmuck who keeps going to work every day?

Some of you may remember 2018 - that brief, heady time when the Government of Ontario mandated two paid sick days per employee per year. As someone who works an hourly job, who was also one paycheque away from bankruptcy, it was a huge relief to me to know those days were there for me if I needed them.

As luck would have it, i didn't need them. I'm rarely sick and I usually just tough it out anyway (see above note about being nearly bankrupt - a day off without pay would nearly cripple me financially). So the year passed, and Doug Ford scrapped the change, and I never got any paid sick leave.

Fast forward to 2021. Covid vaccine. The Government (kicking and screaming the whole way) finally conceded that the vaccine was taking a toll on people and maybe those people shouldn't be forced to work while they're feeling awful. So, to ensure a high vaccination rate, they okayed up to three paid days off after your vaccination.

I work nights. I went to a mass clinic during the day to get my shot (2nd). Now, as I say, I rarely get sick, so the shot didn't cause me any lethargy or discomfort (plus, my workplace is so understaffed in my department there was literally no one available to take my shift), so I went to work.

It seems like everyone else has taken their full three days when they got vaccinated. Am I the only one who's too stupid to take three free days off work?
