Accountant? Help please

I haven't earned enough to have tax taken from me just yet but I'm getting close. I have tracked every income from OF as well as some extra PayPal payments made to me.
I'm wondering if I need to pay an accountant to check everything? I am so clueless. Also the tax year runs April to April yet I read online I have to submit everything by the end of Jan?
