Please stop buying Reddit acounts!!
Post Body
Moderators can usually tell pretty easily when an account is purchased, and sometimes the username is even a dude's name. I mod a couple of big subreddits and I'm seeing more purchased accounts, and some women even admit they're purchased, not realizing that it is against Reddit's TOS. I know building karma is hard. I know Reddit is complicated, but the shortcuts don't work either and SWs have a bad rap in NSFW subreddits because of shit like this.
Comments
Seems like mods arbitrarily banning SWers and treating them like garbage makes SWers feel like theyāre damned if they do or damned if they donāt. Not much incentive to follow the rules of a rigged gameā¦

Thatās just trading better moderation for less exposure. I post in subs of all sizes, but often there simply arenāt alternatives to larger subs with millions of people. The ājust go start your ownā argument is impractical since most here already have at least one full-time job.
Iām not condoning breaking the rules. Iām just saying that you get banned from enough subs despite your best efforts at following the rules (been banned from subs iāve never posted in) I get how you could lose respect for the system.
For example, I assume mods take issue with accounts using upvote bot panels because it breaks reddit but if you were a SWer who felt unheard and with nothing to lose then buying upvotes for 1 cent each might start to sound appealing.
Mods want people to respect their rules but often neglect to realize that respect is reciprocal and āremembering the humanā would go a long way in getting the behavior they want.
