You can use the ATO app to track all your income and expenses. If you use the app at the end of the tax year it automatically transports all your income and expenses straight into your online tax return.
If you want to be organised for next year you can start using the app now. As now is the start of the new tax year.
I track my expenses as I go. Each time I make an expenses I put it in the app. It lets you add a photo of the receipt, add the date, description of transaction. Will also calculate the GST for you if you are GST registered.
The same with income, you can add the income, a photo of invoices, the date, a description of income and calculates GST.
You can also back up all your data and photos of your receipts straight from the app onto cloud storage. (Although I keep my own records of receipts as well just to be safe)
There are also options for tracking any travel in your car for work. It can track your kms travelled with GPS or odometer readings or entering a destination point to point. Whichever is more convenient for you.
I have added some screenshots from the app so you can see with it looks like
